User Personas

Joi Berke
Age: 32
Occupation: Student
Hobbies/Interests: Polymer clay art, bookworm, dabbling in new teas - the favorite being Chai
”I’ve got too much work on my plate with my doctorate program. It’s too much to think about, and I have too many projects to keep track of. I wish I had some sort of app to keep track of all the chaos of my mind in a non-chaotic way.”

Lenny Marshall
Age: 35
Occupation: Software Engineer
Hobbies/Interests: Coding new apps, designing and coding new video games
”My job keeps me busy enough, working on a video game with my personal business is almost impossible to juggle. I have so many tasks for the video game project that needs to get done, but I keep forgetting where the progress is at. If I had an app to keep track of work projects and personal projects at the same time, that would be great. And maybe I’d finally be able to meet more of my deadlines, too!”

MVP Objective
This app is designed to be an essential tool for those who value organization and efficiency.
Users will have the capability to manage tasks of all levels and monitor their progress seamlessly.
Collaboration is a key feature, enabling teams to work together effectively to complete projects promptly.
For individuals seeking a contemporary and minimalist interface, this app offers a sophisticated solution that meets those needs and more.

Prototyping Feedback

Changes Following Feedback
-
Added filter chips to all screens and got rid of the filter icon, which was previously confusing some testers.
-
Moved Activity to the Nav Menu, since that was something users needed more often - Swapped with the Search functionality. Search is now at the top of the screen.
-
Assigned members are now visible on tasks that have them.
-
A notes section was added for those who want to take notes outside of tasks.
-
A fourth segment was added to the segmented button on the activity screen to allow users to toggle between a new change log, and their comments and files. This also gives the ability to see all updates.

Retrospective
What Went Well?
1. Working with different OS guidelines helped me with developing my skills as a designer.
2. This project made me enjoy prototyping and gave me practice getting feedback from potential users.
What Didn't Go Well?
1. Not getting enough feedback, or not getting feedback often enough
2. Designing within OS guidelines were challenging, as my ideas didn’t always fit within the rules.
How to Improve?
1. Moving forward, I think I would work more with OS guidelines. Doing this would familiarize me with the standards in the industry and what makes native apps what they are.
2. I could further practice by creating a version of the app that isn’t yet created; making an iOS version of an existing Android app.
3. Getting more feedback from users, and more often during the process.
